mechanical, biological and chemical purification

Wastewater treatment plant is where the wastewater is treated before being discharged into the nature (the recipient). The wastewater is distributed using sewage pipes and sewers to the sewage treatment plant. In a traditional sewage treatment plant, the purification takes place in three steps: mechanical, biological and chemical purification.

CHALLENGES

The challenge with sewage treatment plants is the humidity load from open water surfaces. It is important to maintain a temperature difference between the air at the open water surfaces relative to the  temperature of the water, in this way making the water be a “cold surface” relative to the air. Then the humidity load in is limited through the condensation on the cold water surface.

The humidity level must therefore be regulated with a combination of temperature regulation of the air in the premises, which have open water surfaces, and dehumidifiers in order to establish a suitable relative humidity level.

OUR SOLUTION

The correct humidity level

A controlled humidity level below 55% relative humidity (RH) is needed to avoid corrosion and mold, but also to reduce bacterial growth and the amount of insects.

INSTALLATION

Airwatergreen technology do not need any unnecessary ventilation pipes to be installed. The Airwatergreen dehumidification technology is also as energy-efficient in cold as well as in warm temperatures, which makes it possible to save energy by lowering the temperature in spaces that are rarely used.

Airwatergreen have a full range of dehumidifiers. From the small portable FLEX for smaller rooms to the industrial REX and the high end NEXT that can reduce up to 500 kg water per day from the air.

All models are easy to install and have the same efficiency also at low temperatures.

PROFIABILITY CALCULATION

An Airwatergreen FLEX dehumidifier consumes in average less than 400W and a REX consumes in average less than 2250W. The NEXT range of products have an even lower energy per kg water consumption. All the energy used is maintained inside the building.

The Airwatergren dehumidifiers provide with a cost-effective solution to avoid damage that may occur due to corrosion and bacterial growth.

PRODUCT CHOICES

For installations in the treatment plant, our full range of dehumidifier models are relevant. REX in larger spaces and FLEX in smaller ones. And the high end NEXT where there is a need for very high capacity of up to 500 kg water per day.

We can assist with measurements and calculations and give suggestions on how a suitable installation can be designed.
Every installation in the treatment plant is unique and should be adapted to the humidity load that applies there!

REFERENCES

Airwatergreen has a number of installations in sewage treatment plants. In some cases, the dehumidifier works independently against the set desired moisture level (% RH) and in other cases it is connected to an existing monitoring system. The products are built to withstand the tough environment that applies with few moving parts and well thought out material choices and an IP63 classification. The REX can be configured using the REX Rough adaptations for installations in sewage treatment plants.

The air passing through the dehumidifiers not only dehumidified but also filtered so that dust and insects are caught. This will have a positive impact creating a better working environment!
